Snow Patrol is a rock band and it members are from Northern Ireland and Scotland. In 1994 the band was formed at the University of Dundee in Dundee. Now a day the band is based in Glasgow. First three releases of the band; the EP Starfighter Pilot and the two studio albums Songs for Polarbear and When It’s All Over We Still Have to Clear were not successful they were released under independent labels Electric Honey and Jeepster. After getting signed to Polyor Records the band released an album “Final Straw” in 2003. The album’s sale was exceeded 4x platinum sales in the UK. It was their first time to attain major commercial sales. In 2006 the band released an album “Eyes Open” the album enjoyed international success and about 4.7 million copies were sold worldwide. Songs from the album “Run”, “Chasing Cars” and “Signal Fire” are among the biggest hits from the band. The band has won five Meteor Ireland Music Awards and has been three time nominated for the BRIT Awards.

The band released their fifth album “A Hundred Million Suns” in 2008. The band has schedule to release their first compilation album “Up to Now” in 2009 allover the world. The total number of albums sold by the band is about 7 million.
