His full name is Steven Patrick Morrissey and he opened his eyes into this world on the 22nd of May in the year 1959. He is more popularly known as just Morrissey. By profession he is a British singer who has also tried his hand at songwriting and has achieved considerable success in both the fields.

It had been after a very short stint in a music band named “The Nosebleeds” during the end of the seventies, did he gain much prominence. Post the aforementioned stint in the next decade he rose as a successful lyricist and a vocalist for a popular alternative rock band that had been named The Smiths. It had been I the late eighties that the respective music band had broken up, in the year 1987 to be precise.

It had been this time period that Morrissey had embarked on a solo career. But traces of the jangle pop sound that had been popularly associated with “The Smiths”. Amongst the solo music albums that Morrisey has released to date several have managed to garner Top 10 singles in the United Kingdom music charts. In fact the popular magazine named NME has given a description of Morrissey as being amongst the most influential music artists ever. This is a great achievement.
