U2 is a very popular music band that makes music belonging to rock genre and hails from Dublin in Ireland. The group comprises of four band members that are Bono (who is the leader of the band and the lead vocalist and the guitarist), The Edge (who is in charge of the guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), Adam Clayton (who is the bass guitarist), and last but not the least Larry Mullen, Jr. (who plays the drums and percussion).

This band had come into existence in Dublin in the month of September back in the mid seventies. Larry Mullen, Jr. who at that time had been in his teens had posted a notice on the board of his secondary school (that had bene the Mount Temple Comprehensive School) that he was in search of musicians for a new music band. He had been in charge for a while until Bono joined the band and blew Mullens chances of being the band leader. Mullen ended up playing the drums, Paul Hewson (who is more popularly known as Bono) was in charge of being the lead vocalist.

They released an album titled "All That You Can't Leave Behind" in October 2000. This music album had been co produced by Brian Eno and Daniel Lanois. It had been considered by many as a masterpiece and the return of the band to the music scene with a bang. In fact it had been considered their best work up till then by the legendary music band "Rolling Stone."

U2 have released 12 studio albums and are among the most critically and commercially successful groups in popular music. the U2 manager weighed in on the rumored album Songs of Ascent.
